The Consultation
We start by figuring out where your color instinct is actually coming from — because that changes everything about what we do next.
Then an in-home walkthrough scaled to your space — studio, one or two bedrooms, or a hallway — where we talk light, exposure, and LRV before a brush ever touches the wall.

Decorative Finishes
Wall glazing, faux marble, Venetian plaster, and select wallpapering — the full boutique experience, entirely hand-applied, discussed and built with you room by room.
LRV — Light Reflectance Value — is the real working language behind every tier. A deep teal at 8% LRV absorbs almost all the light that hits it; the same wall lime-washed to 62% LRV bounces light back into the room all day. I spec every color by its number, not just its name — you'll see this in action in the Custom tier below.
The Nine Color-Voices
Every AWSW Color-Voice is a four-note chord translated into four colors — but which one is yours isn't something you pick by eye. That's what the Question Key below is for. Until then, here's a taste: my own Voice, and what "not yet voiced" sounds like.
"Not yet voiced" is the state before your Color-Voice is confirmed — all nine Voices speaking at once, none of them resolved. That's deliberate dissonance, not a bug. Yours resolves into a single clear chord; the Question Key below is how we find it.
Each Color-Voice is a four-color chord — Root, Third, Fifth, Seventh. Drag any slider to lighten or deepen that color; the percentage is LRV, the same number I use to spec paint on your actual wall.

Only my own Voice (V · The Inquiry) is unlocked to click and hear. The other eight stay dark until the Question Key identifies yours — that's the moment that matters, not a guess by eye.
These seven go after who you are first — that's what actually determines your Color-Voice. The room only comes in at the very end, once I already know which of the nine we're working with. Answer them by email, or walk through them with me live on a free 30-minute call; either way, I verify the match myself before we ever talk paint.
- 1. Under stress, are you more likely to withdraw and think it through on your own, look for reassurance or connection from people you trust, or take direct action and fix it yourself?
- 2. How do you recharge best — time alone with your own thoughts, real time with people who know you well, or staying active and in motion?
- 3. When it comes to how things run — at work, at home, wherever — are you the one who makes sure it's done right, the one who takes charge and calls the shots, or the one who'd rather keep the peace and go along with what everyone wants?
- 4. In a group, are you usually the one taking care of everyone else, the one people notice for what you've accomplished, or the one who feels like they see things a little differently than everyone around them?
- 5. Which is closest to true for you: you need real time alone to think and recharge and don't need much socializing, you like having a plan and knowing what to expect so you're not caught off guard, or you'd rather keep your options open and not get boxed in?
- 6. When there's real conflict, what's your first instinct — face it directly, retreat and process it on your own, or try to smooth it over so it doesn't escalate?
- 7. Tell me about the room itself — what it's used for, and the one thing about how it looks or feels now that you want gone.
Either path gets you the same thing: your true Color-Voice, confirmed by me — not guessed off a wheel.
Forty years on the wall, not just at the counter
I spent decades doing high-end residential work in Manhattan — Park Avenue, Sutton Place, UN Plaza, Bloomingdale's — before retiring from that pace and bringing the same standard back to Northern New Jersey, on my own terms and at my own scale.
I'm AICCE-certified and serve as a special ambassador to the AICCE board — a formal way of saying I've spent a long time thinking about why a color works in a room, not just how to apply it evenly.
